Acrostic jewellery has been popular since the Victorian era,
and is a unique way to show off your personal style! It works by using the
first letter of each gemstone to convey a secret message or a name!

Here's how it works for our different products:

How do you choose the colours used in the Pet Jewellery collections?

For all of our 'Pet Jewellery'

Including:

• Browbands
• Cat/Dog Collars
• Headcollars
• Any Necklace or Bracelet (Pet Related)

We take the first letter of your name & the first letter of your pets name to determine the gemstones used in your piece!

For example:

a 'Raphael Pet Set' for Lucy & her horse Donatella would use the gemstones Lucite & Diamond!

What if I don't like the colours?

Not to worry! If you don't like the colours or would just prefer different gemstones, you can make a note of the gemstones you would like instead in the comments section!

* Note, if you do not request a change, we will assume that you would like to use the names used for the order! To avoid any confusion or disappointment - Please be sure to enter the name of the owner & the pet in the provided box on the product page!

How do the 'Sweet Tooth' & 'Venus' collections work?

Unlike our Pet Jewellery, our 'Sweet Tooth' & 'Venus' collections can convey secret messages or initials!

Simply write your secret message or initials in the provided box on the product page, and we will incorporate it into your new jewellery!

For example:

Amethyst, Diamond, Opal, Ruby, and Emerald would spell 'Adore'!

• Every order will include a copy of our Acrostic Gem Decoder Chart so whether it's a gift to yourself or something special for a loved one,
  you can have fun at home decoding the hidden message!

*Note, there will only be ONE message per Custom Acrostic order! any other
message NOT specifically requested by the buyer is purely coincidental! Our regular handmade necklaces/bracelets will not include messages! So make sure you choose the correct listing to avoid being disappointed!

Our Platones Jewellery is special, so make sure you treat it kindly! Here are some handy tips to help you out:

• Check yourself before you wreck yourself! Our glass gems, charms and pearls are all real, delicate and handmade. A hard impact can break, chip or scuff your new ice! So be sure to handle with care!
• No Swimming! my mum said i can't play mermaids with you :( jk, but seriously no water! no showering or any other water based activity in your Platones jewellery. Oddly, pearls dont do well in water (who knew?) Best to avoid working out in them too!
• Makeup, Lotions, perfume, sunscreen & other harsh chemicals are a no go for your Platones piece. So avoid using them around your new accessory!
• Keep her safe! We recommend storing your new fave accessory in it's box to avoid tarnishing. Also be sure to avoid exposing your jewellery to excessive humidity & sunlight! Remember, if you take care of your piece, it's less likely to show wear or become damaged over time!
• Gold or Silver clasp lost it's original sparkle? No worries! Just take some silver polish and give her a good buff. She will be looking brand new again in no time! :)

But what about your Pet Jewellery? How do we keep that clean?

That’s easy! Treat them in the same way you would your own jewellery. We know that pets aren’t quite as careful as we are.. but our pet jewellery is pretty durable!

• Both our regular cat and dog collars use the same durable faux leather, so a quick wipe with a damp cloth should be enough to keep the grime at bay!
• Our horse browbands, headcollars & full acrostic dog collars however, are made using premium cow/buffalo hide leather! So the cleaning and maintenance process is a little different! We recommend using some good old saddle soap to make sure your leather stays clean and supple :)
• Remember, dry leather can crack! So make sure you saddle soap her up every now and then!

Won't the gems & pearls just come off?

Nope! Our pet wear has been tested vigorously - seriously, check out our TikTok @platonesofficalpage if you don't believe me! Our special sealant will ensure your gems and pearls last!

But what about the Saddle Keyrings?

Well they are pretty easy to take care of! They're made from a high quality PVC rubber - so if they ever get dirty, just give them a wash with some soapy water!

All of the metal components are made from 100% Stainless Steel - so they will not rust!

Take care of your jewellery, she'll thank you for it! Platones cannot accept returns due to poor handling.

18k Gold or Sterling Silver Bracelets:

• 9'' in length with extender chain

Custom Pearl Bracelets: 

• Small - 7.5"
• Medium - 8"
• Large - 8.5"

Individual Pearl Pendants:

• The size will vary slightly due to the fact that we use authentic freshwater pearls and no two pearls are the same!

If you are unsure about your sizing, please take your measurements before purchasing. All of our items are made to order - so
adjustments can be made if we are aware of them. We do not accept returns based
on size! If you'd like a different size, add it to the comments section OR as a note at checkout.
